Preparing to work the front suspension...
The rear end assembly is coming along and the body panel alignment is awesome.

They are going to lower the clip and reset the width between the rails; then try to fit a 351 Cleveland  - checking the header clearance and figure out the what's the right engine height.

Need to get a trans, front valance, and pick some rims...

Interior Panels, Seat Placement, Tubs and Tunnel ..

Working the rear panels still trying the get a decent fit. Tubs and tunnel in place. Floor structure is all welded up. Seat is also tacked up. (click pics for larger image)

Fitting the Coyote is causing rework...

This engine is enormous and will not fit in the same frame rail footprint set up for the 351 Cleveland engine.

Thinking ...

  • Remove to rework front frame rails
  • Remove firewall to position engine
  • Remove floor pan to fit transmission
  • Increase car ride height as needed
  • Trim oil pan and bell housing flange for better ground clearance

Front Frame Rails and Floor Pan...

Great progress has been made on building out the frame rails and floor pan. You can see the frame is now running along each side of the engine and the support structure for the floor pan is in place.

Rear quarter panels got some luv too - fit and body lines are absolutely awesome.

Body panels & doors are fitted and the alignment is awesome. Still trying to figure out what to do with the cowl cover. Water entering the vent ridge and draining through the cowl into the car is not good. First thought is to just fill in the vents but it takes away some of the vintage lines. Not sure what to do.

Working the front suspension...

Frame rails and hoops were adjusted to make room for headers. The upper and lower control arm supports are tacked in place just incase some adjustments are needed for the steering rack and sway bar. We will be using a rear sump oil pan.

Next step is engine mounts so we can set the motor block and transition to resolve any issues. Then finish the welds and fabricate the new control arms.

11.16.18
After setting the 351 Cleveland within the frame rails, we discovered the block had numerous water jacket cracks. Sadly this is a disappointment and the engine is just not going to work or be reliable.

Decided to go with a 2013 Coyote 5.0L 420HP GEN1 with 52K miles. William at Wade Motor Sports helped us out.

Interior Panels & Seat Placement...

Working the rear panels trying to get a decent look - fixing brackets and drilling new holes. Thinking of using a carbon fiber wrap on the panels. Also modified the front panels for the roll bar. Seat placement is incoming along. Waiting on steering column to arrive.
